Scottish Rugby’s Youth Coaching Course The Youth Coaching Course (YCC) is aimed at 15 – 19 year olds and is geared at supporting young people in a structured way to acquire the skills and confidence to lead and deliver rugby sessions at schools or clubs. This is achieved by offering a structured programme of 4 modules covering different elements of the role of a coach, practical coaching experience and concluding with a certificated Foundation rugby Coaching and Refereeing award. The course is delivered in a supported environment which encourages learning through questioning, group working, individual reflection practical experience, acquiring life skills and peer learning; so that the young person becomes a competent and confident youth coach. Following the course youth coaches go on to coach or lead sessions in school, the community and sports clubs. Next Courses are scheduled for Forres Academy, Lossiemouth HS & Elgin Academy for June/July 2013 TBC If interested please contact – George Whitecross on 07527 387549 or George.Whitecross@moray.gov.uk |
